Hotel Reservations

 Room rate is $77 per night plus tax.  A one time non-refundable pet deposit of $35 per room is required for guests bringing pets.  Please call (865) 584-3911 to make reservations.  Let the reservation attendant know that you are attending the Yorkie Angel Patrol Get Together to receive the special room rate.  If you want a refrigerator or microwave in your room, you will need to tell the hotel to reserve the items for you.  There is a daily charge per appliance of $10.

Room Mate Coordinator - If you are looking to save expenses and you are interested in sharing a room with someone, please send Terry Powell an email note.  Terry will keep a list of individuals who are looking to share a room.  Please let Terry know whether you have a smoking/non-smoking preference, and whether you are bringing pets/or want to share a room with someone bringing pets.  Two people sharing a room with pets can additionally save money by splitting the $35 non refundable pet deposit.

Schedule of Events

Thursday - Travel day, check into hotel
Thursday Evening - Potluck 6:30 pm (Everyone bring a favorite dish!!)

Friday - UT Educational Day - 9 am - 4 pm - meet in parking lot at 8 am.  Attendees will caravan to UT from the Holiday Inn.  Those attendees without vehicles can shuttle with other individuals who have vehicles.
Friday Evening - Chinese Auction/Pizza  Time - 6:30 pm

Saturday - Casual Day for Furbabies/Parents - Furbaby  costume parade
Saturday - Vendor Day 10 am - 2 pm in YAP Get Together Room - vendors must be YAP and/or YAPCT members.  $25.00 table fee.  Email rose11@mindspring.com to sign up.

Saturday Evening - Taco Night/Gift Exchange ,  Shopping Bonanza, Prince Kristopher raffle winners announced - 6 pm

Get Together Fees

 The YAP Get Together is an event that is funded by those who wish to attend.  No monies are taken from the Yorkie Angel Patrol 501(c)(3) to pay for this get together.  A $35 fee will be required from each attendee prior to the YAP Get Together.  The $35 will help to pay for the get together room and for the refreshments and snacks that are provided.  Anyone who wishes to participate in the Pizza Time will chip in for pizza on Friday.  Taco Night is included in the $35 fee.  You may send your money to:

Gift Exchange - The gift exchange will be Saturday evening.  Individuals who wishes to participate will need to bring a wrapped dog related gift.  Please keep the spending limit on your gift to $7.00.

University of Tennessee Tour Day

 The UT tour will be Friday, the 22nd of August 2008.  This is an all day event and pets are welcome to attend.  Seminars will be in a class environment and lunch will be provided.  Pets will not be allowed to tour the hospital.  This rule is for the safety and health of your pet.  Volunteers will be provided to stay with pets during the tour of the hospital.  Schedule of seminars will follow at a later date.

Directions to the Holiday Inn

Take I-40 or I-75 to Knoxville.  Take Exit 383, Papermill Drive.  Turn north onto Papermill Dr.  Turn left onto Holman Road.  Turn left immediately onto Kirby Road.  Hotel is on the left.

From the Airport - Take US Highway 129 North from the airport to I-40.  Take I-40 West to Exit 383, Papermill Drive.  Turn right onto Papermill and go 0.2 miles.  Turn left onto Kirby Road.  The hotel is on the left.  The Holiday Inn does not have a shuttle service to and from the airport.  The cost of a taxi from the airport is $41.00 one way.  Individuals who are flying in may want to check with others who's flights may be coming in around the same time to share the expense. 

List of Necessities for the pets attending

 Wee wee pads, crates, blankets, toys, dog dish, water bowl, poop bags, Panties, Bellybands, Kotex, Dog medication and dose schedule, Saline solution, Brush and grooming supplies, Nail clippers, Pepto bismol, Dog food, Treats, Harness and leash, Xpen, Shower curtain for under Xpen, Lysol, Clean up rags. A Green Machine will be available in case of need.

Holiday Inn Renovation - The Holiday Inn is currently being renovated.  Sue had the pleasure of a sneak preview of the new rooms......and they are really nice!!  All renovations are scheduled to be completed prior to our Get Together.  The Holiday Inn is very excited that we are returning for a second time.  The staff was very pleased with our first Get Together and was very impressed with the care that people took with their rooms and their pets.  A BIG Kudo to all who attended last year as being invited back says a lot about our group and who we are!!!!  I hope we see lots of new faces this year in addition to those who attended last year!!
